Dennis Duban

Dennis was born in Skokie Illinois, a small predominantly Jewish suburb of Chicago, in 1951.  He moved with his family when he graduated high School to California.  He then attended The University of Southern California. Upon graduation, he was asked to teach Accounting and Tax courses to both undergraduates and graduate students.  He took the California CPA exam with 35,000  others and received the Forbes Gold Medal for his high score.

He worked thereafter for a national accounting firm, but in 1979 formed his own firm Duban Accountancy.  He has grown the company and now has over 2,500 clients from the entertainment industry to small business owners and professionals.  He also co-founded Sattler Duban Capitol Management, a well respected financial advisory service firm.

Dennis met Kevin Montgomery on a blind date in 1982 and they have been together ever since.   He was able to legally wed his love and long time partner in 2008.  His greatest joy was becoming a father to Chelsea Montgomery-Duban in 1993.  His family is his first priority and loves traveling with them all over the world.  Dennis, grateful for his many blessings, is passionate about giving back through many avenues; He has been on the board of APLA, GLAAD and The Malibu Jewish Center and supports many causes from the Arts and disaster relief efforts to human rights organizations.

He divides his time between Malibu and their other homes in the San Juan Islands in Washington State and Takaka, New Zealand.
